“In a text message among coworker-friends, we relayed the passing of another coworker-friend. One confessed his readiness to be with the Lord as well. Stan Green’s reply was “We will join him soon. Let’s get some work done first.”
After Stan’s own passing, I was shocked to realize I had only known him for two years; a month shy of that to be precise. But this is the mark that Stan left on your life and heart if you had the privilege to know him. His determination to love God and love others permeated him. If you didn’t notice, it was because you chose not to.
I had heard Stan talk about his ministry in Jamaica. My heart and focus was in Israel, but I would jump at a chance to go to Jamaica with him. We agreed that once the COVID closures ended, we would go on the other’s trip. The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9
After Stan’s passing, his wife Regina continued his work in Jamaica and began leading trips herself. When she invited me along, I was honored and certain that I must go. Thought I knew I wanted to return as often as possible, I had no idea that invitation to a week-long mission trip would lead to a month-long stay, multiple visits, and ultimately, God calling me to move into the community we love.
The Lord has made it clear that he is working in Tower Hill and we are blessed and grateful to be part of it. We have made new friends and loved ones, had our eyes opened to how God moves in other parts of the world, and hearts moved to proclaim Jesus to this community. We can’t wait to tell you about the work He gets done!”
