Go and Be The Church
As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

The Legacy That Sparked a Movement
It began with a man named Stan Green whose heart beat for the lost, unseen, unlovely, and forgotten.
June 22, 1959 – October 29, 2021
In his early years, Stan traveled across the Southeast United States with youth groups who shared Christ through performing arts. But in 1993, he sensed God calling him farther — to the island of Jamaica.
During a pre-planning trip in 1994, Stan fell in love with the people of Jamaica and with a special little boy named Ira (top photo, in Stan’s right arm). Just 17 months later, in 1995, Ira became part of the Green family (photo below, in Regina Green’s lap). Over the next 28 years, Stan led many mission teams to serve in nursing homes, group homes, and facilities for the disabled across Jamaica. His ministry shaped countless young people and brought dignity, joy, and hope to some of the most overlooked communities. These projects became more than tasks — they became a classroom for American youth to learn how to love beyond the borders of their own neighborhoods.
In October 2021, Stan’s earthly journey ended suddenly in a tragic car accident — but the seeds he planted continued to grow.
2023 A New Chapter Begins
In 2023, dear friends of the Greens — Tommy and Anita Goddard — were preparing to take a group of high school students to Guatemala. When COVID disrupted those plans, they reached out to Regina for help rerouting the trip to Jamaica. Her last remaining contact in Kingston connected her with Pastor Davewin Thomas, who leads three churches in St. James Parish.
With Regina stepping into project leadership for the first time, they began with simple, meaningful work:

Building a handicapped ramp for the church

Finishing a porch roof at the Infant School

Completing small community repairs

Leading Vacation Bible School
A New Door Opens
The Woman Who Walked In
On the final night of our 2023 trip, as we received thank-you gifts from the church at Tower Hill, a woman in business attire quietly stepped into the sanctuary. Regina noticed her immediately — and felt the Holy Spirit nudge her heart: This is the one who will walk with you.
That woman was Shereel Brown, and over the next year, Regina built a deep and trusted relationship with her. Today, we lovingly call Shereel our boots on the ground, a steady and faithful partner who helps us serve the people of Jamaica with wisdom and compassion.
A Legacy That Keeps Growing
The 2024 trip became a beautiful picture of that vision — a father and daughter, a mother and daughter, a married couple who once served as teenagers, and even a family spanning three generations. Each one living out their faith side by side, proving that legacy doesn’t end; it multiplies.
Dreaming Bigger for 2024
Nothing Went as Planned. Everything Went Perfectly.
When Regina followed up with Pastor Thomas to plan the 2024 trip, she encouraged him to dream big. He shared that the Spot Valley congregation had been worshiping in a high school for more than seven years because their church building had no roof.
We were committed to partnering with the contractor and providing the materials needed. The week quickly earned a “loaves and fish” reputation — nothing unfolded exactly as planned, yet everything came together perfectly.
Through it all, God reminded Regina that His plans stretch far beyond our imagination, and that He can use anyone — absolutely anyone — to make a real difference.
Loving the Community
This Is Why We Go
Throughout the week, we canvassed the neighborhood, inviting families to Vacation Bible School. A bus faithfully brought friends from the Tower Hill community every day to Spot Valley. We shared Bible stories, laughter, and joy — and celebrated at the end of the week with every child receiving school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, and shoes. Most importantly, the gospel was shared, and several children made decisions for Christ. Moments like these remind us why we go.
A Roof Raised and Lives Lifted
The 2025–2026 Tower Hill Project
A Home on The Mountain
In March of 2025, a small pre-planning team traveled to Jamaica seeking God’s direction for the year ahead. In Tower Hill, they met a gentle woman named Dian and her two children, living in a fragile stick house perched on the edge of a mountain. The footers beneath the home were failing, and the danger was unmistakable. The moment the team saw the conditions, they knew — this was the project God was placing in their hands.
They returned to the United States determined to raise the funds and gather a team.
Preparing the Ground
To safely rebuild on the site, workers had to jackhammer fifteen feet back into the mountain to create space for concrete footers. Local laborers completed this grueling work before the mission team arrived on July 1.
The team of 13 volunteers, ages 18 to 74, divided into two groups to tackle the following projects:

One to assist in building Dian's house

One to construct 27 study cubicles for the Tower Hill school and a closet for a family in need

One day a group took food and hygiene products to 20 shut-ins

Each day 8 of the volunteers would stop work about 1 pm and go conduct Vacation Bible School at the church

School supplies, hygiene products and OTC medications were distributed
What the house crew didn’t expect was the sheer physical challenge ahead — carrying concrete blocks up the mountain in a chain brigade, hauling sand and rock bags down, and working under the Jamaican sun. Mornings were spent building; evenings were filled with Vacation Bible School, where the team poured into the children of the community.
When the team returned home, local workers faithfully continued the construction.
Hurricane Melissa and God’s Protection
A second team was scheduled to return on November 1 to finish the house — but Hurricane Melissa had other plans. Miraculously, because the windows and doors had not yet been installed, the structure sustained no damage. Even more remarkable, the new house acted as a shield, protecting the homes behind it from the storm’s force.
A Home Completed
In late January 2026, another team traveled back to Jamaica to complete the house and move Dian and her children into their new home.
After the move-in, Regina sent a message to everyone who had worked on the project:
“For everyone on the chain brigade, for everyone who went to bed exhausted, for everyone who really didn’t have the money but made the trip happen… this is why we go. Worth every hike up the hill and more!”
A New Season: The GO Committee
During this trip, it became clear that God had even bigger plans for the Tower Hill community. To support future projects, share leadership, and strengthen decision-making, a new committee was formed — seven people, including five of us dedicated team members and our faithful Jamaican partners.
We are called the GO Committee, in honor of Stan Green, who ended every sermon with the charge:
